GATF’S PRESSMAN OF THE YEAR - 2007! Rick Stryker of Grit Commercial Printing has been named the Graphic Arts Association’s 2007 “Pressman of the Year.” Rick has demonstrated great dedication to the printing industry for over 20 years. Since 1993, Rick has been a part of the Grit team. Under his direction in the pressroom, Grit has positioned itself with customers and vendors in a very positive way. Rick has personally created and implemented the quality control guidelines, press maintenance and pressman training programs. Recently Rick has been involved in the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation’s (GATF) Advanced Sheetfed Press Operations Workshop and attended the Sheetfed Pressroom Conference. Since then he has implemented and instructed the GATF Sheetfed Offset Pressman Training Program. He also attended GATF Color Management for the Pressroom. With all of his knowledge, Rick traveled to Germany with Grit’s owner to analyze a new 40" press for purchase and was directly involved with the rehab, importing and installation of the press.
